About Rebellion Gallery

Forever a lover and consumer of art, Stacey Young chose to leap into the glamorous world of gallery ownership after ten years of working for the provincial government.

Stacey holds a PhD in education and has worked for almost 20 years in research, writing, policy and program design, with a focus on students in financial need.

Stacey also spent several years with Pathways to Education Canada, an internationally recognized after school program which increases the likelihood of kids living in “at risk” communities completing high school.

With this background, her decision to shift her attention to her vibrant local community and the recreational and creative needs of children in the Leslieville neighborhood, made sense.

Stacey believes that fostering creativity and improving children’s access to art education are key to a more prosperous and rewarding future.

Along with co-founder Angelina MacNeill, she created Rebellion Gallery, where she now develops children’s programming and promotes the work of artists both local and international.
